Scotiabank Signs on to BVI Business Outlook 2014
Sponsors Leading Business Leaders Conference for 2nd year
Scotiabank has announced its sponsorship of the 2014 BVI Business Outlook Conference to be held on January 15, 2014 on Scrub Island. The event which is the island’s ‘A-rated’ business conference attracts the top economists, local and international business leaders as well as several high ranking government officials. Scotiabank signalled its endorsement of the staging of the event for the second year in a row indicating that it was very pleased to support this significant conference as its pulls corporate and government leaders together to discuss important economic issues on our national agenda and the way forward.
The event is centred around the theme “Taking our Game to the Next Level.” The participating government and private sector leaders will be discussing several crucial matters affecting the island and the region. Topics are expected to include smarter governance, moving the country’s economy beyond the tourism and financial sectors as well as identifying and maximizing wealth and investment opportunities. The leaders will also be addressing the issues of education and training of students effectively for the real working world. Speakers include The Hon. Dr. D. Orlando Smith, Premier of the British Virgin Islands, Craig Cannoier, Premier of Bermuda, Hon Fabian Picardo, Chief Minister of Gibraltar and several other private sector leaders.
